Making love with you
Is like drinking sea water.
The more I drink
The thirstier I become,
Until nothing can slake my thirst
But to drink the entire sea.

No wasted lines, no wasted words, and a strong, untired conclusion. What a well written poem.

If Omied was a singer…
The City Club
It was called the City Club. I found out when I reached to press for the 54th floor and saw its green lettered name embossed on a brass rectangle. When I entered I was greeted by the chatter of men in suits, all talking about one of two things: money or themselves. (For people not in the business, it’s called “networking.”) Before joining the fray, I took a moment to stand by one of the windowed walls to look out at the Los Angeles skyline.
While looking out, I thought to myself, “Funny, but the the closer you get to the top, the further away you are from the people below…and the smaller and more insignificant they seem.”
And just then, a flash of green light caught my eye. It was barely visible but I could make out a flower shop with some daisies on display.
I scoffed and muttered to myself, “The views must be better at night.”
